An Update From Tyler and Sitting Pretty—Introducing Prune
Starting in October, Sitting Pretty becomes Prune, a new-yet-familiar design newsletter published by Dirt. Plus, a limited-edition zine.
I'm pleased to announce that Sitting Pretty is moving within the Dirt Media family, where it will be published under the new name, Prune.
Dirt is a daily-ish newsletter sending the latest insights in digital pop culture and entertainment. (I've been a longtime reader and occasional writer; it's great!) Prune will be the new design vertical that Dirt will send directly to your inbox. I’ll continue to write it and am very excited for this next phase of the newsletter.
If you're already a Sitting Pretty subscriber, you don't need to do anything to receive the new Prune newsletter for free. We'll take care of everything regarding the transition, and you'll automatically start to receive Prune in October. (The first edition will hit your inboxes on Wednesday.)
I've known and worked with Dirt's founder and CEO, Daisy Alioto, for several years and am excited to work together in this new capacity. Plus, for a stint, Daisy edited Sitting Pretty behind the scenes, so there is no better partner for this newsletter's next chapter. (You can read her introduction letter to Prune here.) I'm so grateful for all you design diehards who open the emails and read along—and there will be plenty more coming your way in the upcoming weeks.
Lastly, to coincide with the Prune launch, we’re releasing a limited-edition zine titled Well, it’s Beautiful that celebrates the design and interiors from the movies of Mike Mills. It’s 40 pages of stills and spans his four feature films. You can order your copy in the Dirt online shop now. (There are only 30 copies, so I wouldn’t wait.)
